BLACK BELT WORLD'S STANDARD OF EXCELLENCE

Our Taekwondo Hall of Fame: Instructors and Athletes

The taekwondo hall of fame at Black Belt World honours the instructors and athletes whose training, rank and results set the standard for our school. Every person on this page is a Kukkiwon black belt, and many of them have stood on provincial and national podiums.

Behind every medal is a student who once took a very first class. The same school that trains our champions teaches beginners, children and adults every day. If you are curious how far steady training can take you, book a free trial class and see for yourself.

Taekwondo Hall of Fame Instructors

Our instructors hold Kukkiwon dan ranks from 3rd to 5th dan, and many carry coaching certifications through the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP). New to the sport? Start with what taekwondo is, or read more about our school.

The NCCP letters under our instructors’ names refer to Canada’s National Coaching Certification Program. Taekwondo Canada certifies coaches in three steps: Assistant Instructor (AI, beginner instruction), Dojang Coach (DC, competition introduction) and Performance Coach (PC, competition development). Each step builds on the one before it, from teaching a first class, to preparing students for competition, to developing competitive athletes. Read the full pathway on the Taekwondo Canada coaching page.

Taekwondo Hall of Fame Athletes

Our athletes compete in sparring at provincial and national tournaments, and many train with our Kyorugi sparring program. Each card shows the athlete’s Kukkiwon rank, a count of gold, silver and bronze medals, and four career highlights. The highlights are a selection, not a full results history. Train With Our Instructors and Athletes

Black Belt World teaches taekwondo to Tiny Tigers, children, teens and adults in Toronto, Burlington, Vaughan, Kitchener and Mississauga. Whether you want to compete one day or simply get stronger, fitter and more confident, our instructors will meet you where you are and build a plan around your goals.

Many of the athletes in our taekwondo hall of fame began exactly where a new student begins: in a first class, learning respect, basic blocks, and new stances. Their results come from steady attendance, good coaching and a family of students who push each other.

Train Where These Athletes Train

Our instructors and athletes train across the Black Belt World family of schools. Choose the school nearest you, or book a free trial class.
